Claude R. Allerding, 75

Services for Claude R. Allerding, 75, of Little Traverse Township, will be 1 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 7, at the Schiller-Gillian Funeral Chapel, Harbor Springs. Rev. Edward Warner will officiate and interment will be in Lakeview Cemetery.

Mr. Allerding died Dec. 5, 1983, at the Emmet County Medical Care Facility.

He was born Oct. 29, 1908, in Harbor Springs and attended Harbor Springs schools. Mr. Allerding worked as a caretaker in the Wequetonsing and Roaring Brook area resorts and had also worked for the Harbor Springs schools as a bus driver for 16 years. He also was a custodian at the schools, retiring in 1973.

On Nov. 22, 1941, he married the former Ardis Bonter and the couple resided in Harbor Springs.

Mr. Allerding was a member of the Emmet County Farm Bureau and a former member of the First Presbyterian Church of Harbor Springs.

Survivors include his wife; one daughter, Mrs. Harvey (Linda) Kasuske of Petoskey; one son, Dr. Dale Allerding of Augusta, Maine; two grandsons and two granddaughters; four brothers, Nelson, Asa, Wayne and Carl, all of Harbor Springs; two sisters, Mrs. George (Gladys) Belanger and Mrs. Charles (Clara) Engler, both of Harbor Springs.

The family suggests memorials to the Emmet County Medical Care Facility. Envelopes for that purpose are available at the funeral chapel where friends may call from 7 to 9 tonight.
