Mrs. Cole was the daugher of the late August Melching and of Augusta Melching and was born at Steubenville, O., on October 19, 1874; coming to Harbor Springs with her parents when she was four years old.

Elizabeth died 29 October 1938 in Petoskey, Emmet, Michigan. She is buried in the Lakeview Cemetery, Harbor Springs, Emmet, Michigan.
