Services for Helen Bathke, 53, of Brutus, will be 2 p.m. Saturday from the Stone Funeral Home. Rev. Gerald Janousek, Zion United Church of Christ, Brutus will officiate and interment will be in Maple River Twp. Cemetery.
She was born Helen Phelps, in Pellston on May 10, 1919. On May 27, 1939 she married Raymond Bathke. They made their home in this area.
She was employed at teh Dam Site Inn for 18 years as a waitress and also worked at the Park Garden Cafe. She was a member of the Zion United Church of Christ.
Besides her husband, she is survived by two daughters, Mrs. James (Anne) Bohn, of Decatur, Mich. and Mrs. James (Carol) Carter, of Pellston; five grandchildren; four brothers, Raymond, of New York, Fred, of Lowell, Mich., Ben, of Pellston and Arthur, of Petoskey; three sisters, Florence Gabrielson, of California, Elsie Tejeda, og Middleton, Calif. and Katherine, of Detroit and one great aunt, Della Moore, of Cheboygan.
Friends may call at the Stone Funeral Home beginning this evening.
Mrs. Bathke was killed Wednesday evening near Van Rd. on U.S. 31 following a headon auto collision.
