Obituary

Petoskey News Review, Monday, June 30, 2008:

Isabelle (Kruskie) France, 95

Isabelle (Kruskie) France, 95, formerly of Cross Village, born March 17, 1913, in Cross Village, passed away June 27, 2008, in St. Johns, Mich., while a resident of the Hazel I. Findlay Country Manor.

Isabelle spent her youth in Cross Village and eventually spent many years in the Lansing area until her retirement. After her retirement she returned to Cross Village where she lived until Alzheimer's caused her to move to St. Johns to be closer to her family.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Clifford France; her parents, Andrew and Susie Kruskie; and her brothers, George, Leonard and Raymond Kruskie. Surviving are one daughter, Beverly (Richard) Lingle, and sons, Clifford France of Traverse City, James Congleton of Spring Lake, and Gerry (Patricia) Congleton of St. Johns. She also leaves behind six grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. She is also survived by her sisters, Susanne Crick, Lucille Shull, Madge Kosequat and Ethel Lawler.

Isabelle led a simple life and was always happy to visit with friends and family. She especially enjoyed going away to visit her children during the long Cross Village winters.

A viewing and a sharing of memories will take place 9-11 a.m. on Tuesday, July 1, at the Holy Cross Church in Cross Village. A funeral Mass will follow at 11 a.m. The Rev. Norbert Landreville will be the celebrant. Interment will take place in Holy Cross Cemetery.

The family requests memorial contributions be made to the Alzheimer's Association in lieu of flowers.

The family was served by the Schiller Funeral Home of Harbor Springs.
