Ivan Andrews, formerly of Emmet County, passed away on Friday, Jan. 7, 2005, following a brief illness in Jackson, Mich.
Ivan was born May 18, 1919, on Mackinac Island, to Louise Assinaway and Peter Roberts.
He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Evelyn (Lasley) Andrews, of Jackson; a son, Wesley (Eleanor) Andrews, of Fountain, Mich.; and a daughter, Sherry Andrews, of Ann Arbor.
He lived in the Good Hart area during most of his youth and was a veteran of the U.S. Army serving in the 3rd Infantry Division during World War II.
He married Evelyn Doris Lasley, also of Good Hart, in 1945.
Ivan was a member of the Little Traverse Bay Bands of Odawa Indians and enjoyed watching sports and doing handmade crafts.
Memorial and burial services will be held in the spring at a location and place to be announced later.
The family requests donations be made to the American Red Cross.
