SUTTONS BAY-- Martin L. Bahle, 70, a resident of Detroit for the past 15 years and a former resident here, died Saturday at Detroit General Hospital after an illness of a few months.
He was born October 13, 1886, in Suttons Bay, the son of Lars and Olene Bahle. He was a seaman on the Great Lakes for 50 years, retiring in 1951. He sailed on ore boats and car ferries.
Surviving are a brother, John of Suttons Bay; three sisters, Mrs. Carl (Lena) Garthe, and Mrs. Martin (Nellie) Johnson, both of Suttons Bay, and Mrs. Edward (Emma) Egeler of Omena; and several nieces and nephews.
The body is at the Ray Martinson funeral home, Suttons Bay, where services will be held Tuesday at 2 p.m. with Rev. A. C. Pikop of Immanuel Lutheran Church officiating. Burial will be in the Lutheran cemetery.
The family will meet friends and relatives at the funeral home tonight from 7 to 9 p.m.
