Woman Dies
Services for Mrs. Mary Griffin, 73, of Harbor Springs, who died this morning at Little Traverse Hospital will be Monday at 2 p.m. from the Erwin Funeral Home. Rev. Phillip Howe, of Harbor Springs Methodist Church will officiate and burial will be in Lakeview Cemetery. She was born Mary Beckon in Toronto, Ontario, Canada October 14, 1894 and came here as a small girl. She has always lived in this area.
Mrs. Griffin had been in ailing health for several years.
She married Richard Carpenter in 1918 and he died in 1933. She married Homer Griffin in 1935 and he preceeded her in death in 1949.
Mrs. Griffin is survived by one daughter, Mrs. Robert (Marie) Jensen, of Harbor Springs and one grandson; three brothers, Ray Beckon, of Lark's Lake, Earl Beckon of Cross Village and Charles Beckon, of Lansing.
Friends may call at the Erwin Funeral Parlor Sunday between 7 p.m. and 9 p.m.
