Raymond Woodruff, a nine-year-old son of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Woodruff, of Fulton street, was instantly killed at about 6 o'clock Thursday evening by being struck by an automobile truck owned and driven by Albert Rasmussen. The lad, in company with other boys, was crossing State street at Howard street, and started to run across the street. They evidently passed behind one car and directly in from of the truck. The Lad's neck was broken and he died instantly. The other lads dodged back and escaped being hit.

The lad was picked up immediately by Charles Paige and others and carried to a nearby residence. A physician hurried to the scene.

The parents of the lad were prostrate with grief over the death of their son. Mr. Rasmussen, driver of the car, was suffering from a nervous breakdown as a result of the accident.

The funeral will be held at 2:30 o'clock Sunday afternoon at the home. Rev. J. W. Sheehan, pastor of the First Methodist church, will have charge.
