Subject: Kitty ingalls autograph book
I have an autograph book from 1881-1883, belonging to a Kitty Ingalls. There are many inscriptions from people in Portland, Michigan. Some on Danby St it seems. Also other cities
There are autographs from a Mary Ingalls, Charles Ingalls, C. Manly Ingalls, C. Alfonso Ingalls, Hall J. Ingalls as well as many friends
A long inscription from the girls grandmother who when she died Kitty wrote on the page the year of her death and underlineing some of the things her grandmother had once wrote her.
It's a beautiful book. I have leafed through it so many times reading the poetry and inscriptions in it that some of the very delicate pages have become unattached from the binding, yet the book is still in very good shape the embossing is still very beautiful.
I just wondered if perhaps you might know any of these people. I found the book in the bottom of a box at a garage sale. It seems kind of sad something so full of history over onehundred years old could be given away.I know the more popular Ingalls family was from Wisconsin and Minnesota and south dakato. I was wondering if these poeple were somehow related to them, especially with some of the names being the same such as charles, george, mary. Either way I love this book. if you'd like to know of other names in the book I'd be happy to let you know. She had others in it such as friends unrelated.
Thank you for any information you may have.
