He was born Nov. 4, 1900 in Escanaba. On June 2, 1929, he married the former Louise Pierce in Madrid, Iowa. The couple made their home in Petoskey for many years.

Mr. Bacon was the manager of the local Western Union Telegraph in Petoskey for many years, retiring in 1963. He worked for the company for 49 ½ years. Following retirement, Mr. and Mrs. Bacon lived in Petoskey and for the past nine winters had resided in Zephyrhills, Fla.
