Orville Bahle, Died September 5, 2000 CHULA VISTA, Calif.
Orville Bahle died Tuesday, Sept. 5, at a hospital in Chula Vista, Calif. at the age of 90.
He was the son of Esten and Laura Gronseth Bahle. Orville was born in Ludington, Mich. where he lived until he was eight years of age. At that time the family moved to Suttons Bay where he attended Suttons Bay schools.
Orville married Marion Hockstad of Traverse City on Oct. 13, 1934. She preceded him in death in 1981. He was also preceded in death by a son Peter in 1983 and a brother Gordon on June 16, 2000.
Survivors include his daughter, Janice (Homer) Craig of Chula Vista, Calif.; two sisters, Realpha Clausen of Suttons Bay and Thelma (Ike) Hagen of Northport; two brothers, Lester and Kenneth (Helen) of Suttons Bay; grandchildren; great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
His first occupation was as a sailor on the Great Lakes for several years after which he was an electrician for REA. During the war he was a model maker at the Tank Arsenal at Centerline, Mich. This he continued until his retirement in 1972 to his home in Lexington, Mich. He lived there until his health failed. He then moved to California to be with his daughter.
Interment will be at the family plot in Lexington.
